Slow Food Pop Up Dinner 2016

Last Saturday we had the East Cork Slow Food pop up dinner by the 12 week students in aid of East Cork Slow Food Educational Project – teaching local children to grow and cook.

Pamela Black and Tracie Daly (two experienced teachers from Ballymaloe Cookery School) guided the students through the whole process with Rory O'Connell & Darina Allen.

Garden Diary - October 2016

Pumpkins and squashes decorate the Cookery School in large troughs, and on windowsills here and there; their bright yellow and orange colours are almost fluorescent in this Autumn sunshine. We’ve had a very dry October with plenty sunshine which has many benefits to the gardener and farmer at this time of year, for harvesting, pruning and sowing. Inside the school, baskets of many varieties of apples are on display, harvested from the multiple orchards on the Cookery School’s 100 acre organic farm.
